Connector approved to key hydraulic standard

The instrumentation products division of Parker Hannifin has secured approval for its novel high-pressure Phastite tube and pipe connection system to the ISO 19879 hydraulic applications standard. Testing was performed by TUV Rheinland. 

The scope of the ISO 19879:2005 standard is 'Metallic tube connections for fluid power and general use - Test methods for hydraulic fluid power connections'. Phastite introduces a very simple assembly concept for high pressure connections up to 1,379 bar (20,000 PSI), that can greatly reduce installation costs compared with welded or cone-and-thread fittings. 

High pressure hydraulic lines are a major application, and ISO 19879 certification provides independent verification of the connector's capability. Tests performed include pressure tests at 1.5 times of the Phastite rating, together with leak and vacuum tests, and cyclic endurance.

Parker has a comprehensive portfolio of Phastite fluid connector sizes and shapes for metric or imperial tube or pipe applications up to 1in (25mm).  Phastite fittings employ a compression assembly principle using a novel form of toothed profile which makes the seal.
